9 months old!

Our cutie's nine months old! 3/4 of a year... where has it gone!

Here's the stats from Quinn's 9 month checkup:
Weight: 21 pounds 6.5 ounces
Height: 29 3/4 inches
Shots: 2 (ouch!)

Quinn's gotten really good walking with his walker even though most of the time he's walking on his tippy-toes. He's mastered the stairs. He loves to climb all the way up them. Don't worry... someone's always got his back!

Food is Quinn's newest passion. He loves to try new things... in fact we haven't found anything yet that he doesn't like! It's so funny to watch him eat. He shovels fists full of food into his mouth. Of course, a lot of it doesn't make it in and ends up in his lap or on the floor. No worries though, Lucia is always anxious to help clean up :-)

Katie came to visit. Unfortunately Quinn wasn't feeling well so we didn't do a whole lot but we enjoyed just hanging out. If you know Katie, you'll understand why there aren't many pictures. In fact, I was lucky to get the few I have!

Well here's a link to the pictures:

Per Billy's request...

Billy has requested *long*, weekly stories ("like the ones Laura sends" - geez, thanks a lot Laura :) and since he took the time to help setup the blog, I guess I owe it to him...

Quinn's still trying to get used to daylight savings time. Some of the kids at daycare are really sensitive and start crying if their parents are just a minute late to pick them up. I'm not sure if Quinn's just easy going, or if we have such an erratic schedule that he just doesn't know what to expect. Regardless, he was in a good mood when I picked him up yesterday.

It was the first day he officially joined the big kids for breakfast and lunch and he just loved it. I'd been noticing that he wasn't too crazy about his baby food. Used to be you couldn't get it into his mouth fast enough. Nowadays, he gets all fussy and you have to start playing games with him to get him to finish eating. Although once you bring out food he can feed himself (or start eating something yourself) he's famished - he'll try and snatch anything! To be honest, I'm not sure who's worse, him or Lucia. The other day I was eating popcorn and he kept trying to grab the bowl from me. I gave him some small pieces to try and he devoured them. I didn't think popcorn was that good for him so I stopped and he threw a huge tantrum. Couldn't distract him either, so we just sat there and ate popcorn together. I figured it wasn't worth the battle and besides, if Jimmy survived on his diet (can you call it that?), Quinn would probably be okay eating some popcorn... So back to his first school lunch (long tangent, sorry :), they had mac-n-cheese, green beans, and peaches and he ate all of it. And of course, flushed it down with some water in a sippy cup. What a big boy!

Last night I gave Quinn one of those messy biter biscuits. In times past, Lucia ends up eating a couple since Quinn will chew on them for awhile then get "convinced" by Lucia to give her some. So Lucia finishes the one and Quinn gets a new one, and the cycle repeats... Well last night, Quinn wouldn't let go of the thing. If it slipped out of his hands and fell into his lap he'd go crazy till you pulled out the tray so he could grab it. Lucia couldn't convince him to even put out his hand for her to lick. Kinda reminded me of Billy a little :)

Quinn's 12 month shirts are already a little tight. I thought his clothes were supposed to start lasting a little longer, but not if his appetite keeps up! Oh well, I love to cuddle my squishy baby :)

Tomorrow is picture day at "school". It's been in the 80's so Quinn's been wearing shorts. Hopefully tomorrow will be cooler so he can wear some fall clothes for the pictures.

Katie's coming to visit this weekend. We're all excited to have some company, especially Quinn who thrives on attention. It will be great to spend some time with her. And to think, I don't have any "returns", whatever will we do? (lol)

Well Billy, I hope you're happy now! Feel free to post a comment applauding my efforts ;)

Definitely a bouncer...

Yup, I'm pretty sure it's true...

Last night Jason and I watched Quinn sitting in his crib bouncing away. Hopefully that's the only "craziness" he gets from me! :)
