The rational of a 1 1/2 year old...

Quinn loves to have the faucet running the whole time during his bath. Aside from the bathtub getting too full, it just seems wasteful, so I always 'try' to turn it off. Well tonight, just like every other night, I turned it off once it was chest deep. I explained to him that it was too deep. So Quinn pulls the drain (to let the water out), stands up and tries to turn the faucet back on. I guess I need a better argument for tomorrow... He just cracks me up :)

Well, since I'm logged on, here's some other fun updates...

Quinn can kick a ball now! He kicks it straight and it seems to go where he's intending. He apparently doesn't have my athletic abilities - as he can already kick and throw better than me. But I've still got him beat on catching (not for long though I'm sure...).

Quinn's doing a great job with his words. He's trying to repeat a lot more than he used to.
- Last week it was pretty chilly (for North Carolina), so every morning I would say "Brr... It's cold out!". Well later in the week it had started warming up, so I said "It's cool outside". He turned and looked at me and said "No, cold". The look on his face was so funny. There's nothing quite like being corrected by a one year old :)
- I've been trying to teach Quinn to say "I love you" but we can't get past the "I". He thinks I'm saying "Eye" and starts poking everyone's eyes (His, mine, and anyone else's near by). Oh well, I can see how it would be confusing.
- The other day at target he turned and said "ank you" to the cashier as she was loading the bags into the cart... it was so cute!

Quinn loves mints. One morning he saw some individually wrapped ones in my closet and wanted to try one. I thought there was no way he would like it so instead of fighting with him, I decided to let him try it. Well I was wrong. He loves it. He likes to blow when it's in his mouth to get that nice cool feeling. Of course, it doesn't just stay in his mouth - he likes to play with it and look at it so he becomes a sticky mess. Unfortunately, he decided he wanted one every morning. Even though it's a mess, it became a convenient negotiating tool for getting him changed and dressed (worth the price). Now, he asks for them all the time. Of course, he doesn't get them all the time :). But it's cute to hear him ask since it's one of his clearest words -- he really enunciates the 't'... MinT. So cute!

Other words he says (some aren't new, I just forgot to mention them last time): Star, bumpy, cold, Zoe (friend from school), Priya (friend), art, sit down, milk, Diet Coke, bowl, bath, choo choo, sock, coat, EIO (EIEIO), Bus, Row Row Row (from the song), mint, ...

I'll try to get the 20 month pictures posted sometime this week.
