Priya is moving
Quinn got to spend a lot of time playing with Priya this weekend which was great since they are moving to Charlotte this week. Quinn is really going to miss her! We get together almost every weekend. They have fun playing at home, at the park, at the mall, and especially at the bowling alley.
This past weekend, we tried to go bowling on Saturday night but our dinner at Chili's turned into a 2 1/2 hour fiasco so it got to be too late. I have to give Chili's credit though - they listened attentively to our complaints, gave the kids some attention, and most importantly gave a nice comp on the bill. It was a far cry from Tony Roma's $4 "appeasement credit" (the Reardon's will understand). Anyway, we celebrated Priya's birthday early and the kids had fun blowing out the candles again and again. I'm not sure that we ever got them all (and we are only talking about three candles) lit at the same time before one kid would blow them out :-)
The next day we got together at the play area in the mall. It was really crowded so we didn't stay too long. We headed over to Build a Bear where Priya built a cute white doggie (Marcelle) and Quinn built a snow leopard. At first he wanted to name it hippo then switched to Lucky. Both got a nice cat/dog bed but Marcelle made out even better with a dog house, dish, leash, and I'm not sure what else. The kids had a lot of fun. Quinn has been taking very good care of Lucky. He covers him with a blanket and feeds him an interesting pretend diet (Chicken, Orange Juice, Pop, and Peas from what I saw). For some reason all of Quinn's pretend creatures seem to be high maintenance and Lucky appears to be no different. Lucky often meows for attention or food and is constantly pooping. He certainly keeps Quinn busy.
Anyway, after the Build a Bear Quinn and Priya split a bucket of Ms. Field's cookies... well split is relative, I think Quinn took and ate 2/3 of them. I begged for a cookie the whole time we were at the mall (he started with more then 10 mini-cookies) but he wouldn't share. That's not too unusual for Quinn but it still hurt my feelings, especially when we got home and after Jason asked for a cookie Quinn replied with "You want this one Daddy?".
