Shopping buddies

Quinn has always loved getting out of the house. Recently he's starting coming up to me, asking "Want to go shopping Mommy?" He especially plays it up on days he doesn't want to go to school. He'll sit there and try to negotiate with me, with a tempting tease in his voice... "Want to go shopping Mommy...?"

If you ask him where he wants to go, he typically says "Target" although I think Walmart is his favorite (they have the bikes out so he can "try" them out). Usually he has a shopping list... a ball or candy for him and them some other random household things. The other day he had "Green pop for Daddy" on his list. He mentioned it before we got there and several times while we were there but somehow we ended up at the checkout line without it. I didn't really think we needed it, but he was insistent that we go back and get it. I'm not sure how he knew, but we really were out of it when we got home so he got a lot of brownie points with Jason.

I'll admit, I love the company. We shop a lot slower but he's usually good and makes it more fun. My only hang up, is that he likes to pick things out and put them in the cart. Of course that doesn't usually agree with my minor OCD issue with taking the first item. Since I'm trying hard not to pass my idiosyncrasies on to him, I try to resist doing the secret replacement (well to be honest, I tried that a bunch but he's like a hawk - I got caught every time). So not only do we end up with the front package (the one that everyone has touched), it's typically the banged up package as well. Ah, what you do for your kids... lol
