Santa again...

I took Quinn to sit on Santa's lap at Yorktown mall over the weekend. It was the first time that Quinn wanted to sit on his lap (usually he just wants to wave from afar) so I was excited. The line was long (Santa was about to return from break so it was just backing up) but he waited patiently - entertained by the other kids in line and the general commotion in the mall. When we finally got to the front of the line - there was just one kid in front of us - Quinn patted his pocket and said "I've got my money". It took me a second to relate it back to the walmart incident... I tried to explain but Quinn was insistant that he was right.

PS: He was all smiles on Santa's lap. The photographer was busy in the beginning and I was getting frustrated that she was going to miss his big smiles but she ended up snapping a cute one.

Santa needs money?

On our way into Walmart Quinn spotted a Salvation Army bell ringer dressed up like Santa. First he was just excited to have spotted Santa. Quickly he realized that people were putting coins into the bucket. With the puzzled look on his face and his shoulders shrugged up he turns to me and asks "Santa needs money Mommy?". I did my best to keep a straight face and figure out what an appropriate answer would be... He doesn't really understand multiples yet, so he really thinks every santa he sees is the same real one (or so I sense). Anyway he didn't really seem to need a response from me... He worked it all out in his head and started rambling on about how the money was for the presents for the good kids... What a cutie!
