Spoiled?

Not that Quinn seems to ever be deprived of presents and "suprises", he tends to be particularily spoiled during the holidays. However, I do worry about all the excess and try to keep his perspective on the meaning of the holiday and to teach him to always be appreciative for all of his blessings. This was his last year as the only grandson/nephew (on both sides!) so I think he may be in for a shock next year.

So here's what Quinn's holidays looked like...

I'll start by admitting that I bribed him with treats just to get through some of my holiday shopping this year (a $5-$10 toy is a whole lot cheaper then a babysitter...). A couple of days before we left NC his present from Uncle Eric and Aunt Meredith arrived and then the day we left our neighbor suprised him with another Christmas present. When we arrived at Grandma's house, she let him open a present every day up to Christmas. During that time we also had a family party were he got some nice presents from his Great-Grandparents, Great Aunt, and cousin "A-little-bit" (aka: Elizabeth). Christmas Eve was the official start of the gift avalanche where his Grandparents and Auntie spoiled him. He awoke the next morning at Yia-Yia's house to a stuffed stocking and a couple of presents from Santa. He was then quickly buried by gifts from his Yia-Yia and Theos. Next came more gifts from Katie and his cousins Christopher, Penelope, Maria and Peter. After what seemed like a kids dream come true I was suprised by Quinn's confusion... Just after everyone left on Christmas day, Quinn turned to me and said when's Christmas? Confused, I'm sure I gave him a weird look when I answered that we had just had Christmas. He returned with a quizzical expression of his own and stated "but this was just our little Christmas"... Like I said, I think next year may be a bit of a shock for him :-)
