Our little chatterbox
Quinn can really talk your ear off these days. And once he gets started there's no stopping him and he takes offense to being interupted. So I found it really funny this morning when he took a break from one of his rants and told me:
"Good thing Daddy's not here so you don't have to talk to him. I don't like it when you just talk to him so much..."

Is it still a bad word if you say it wrong?
Quinn likes to travel with a lot of items (toys and other random collections). In addition to his standard stash, he had a couple of extra items yesterday afternoon - Scott had left him and Allison goody bags from his birthday party over the weekend (we missed it because we were in Chicago). Last night as he was getting out of the van, I pointed out that he had forgotten to grab everything... Exasperated he mumbled "Oh, Damn-it!"... or so I thought I heard... So here's how the conversation proceeded:
Terri (in a calm, non-alarming voice): "what did you say?"
Quinn: ""Oh Damage"
Terri: "What does that mean?"
Quinn: "I don't know, my brain just told me to say it..."
I followed up with a low key lecture how he can't just repeat what grown-ups say and that what he said wasn't nice and that he shouldn't say it anymore.
I fully suspect it's something he overheard over the weekend (some of our relatives aren't quite used to having a little one around all the time. I'm not finger pointing but I observed multiple offenders through the weekend...

Allison is a smart cookie
Allison was being a bit fussy and I figured she probably wanted a bottle but was busy doing something at the moment. Well she beat me to it... She went over to the diaper bag and pulled out a sippy cup and her formula container. Then she started banging the formula container on top of the sippy cup... just like she's seen me do numerous times (nevermind the fact the lid wasn't off). Of course none of this means she had any degree of patience once I finally got over there to mix up her bottle the right way... :-)

speech evaluation
Quinn had his speech evaluation today. While I was sequestered away, I was still able to hear some of the conversation. To get him talking the speech therapist asked if he had a dog. He spent a minute on Lucia (our dog) and quickly jumped over to Auntie's dogs. Here are some quotes:
"One person in my family has a puppy. He's just not growing" (referring to maverick who I think is a pug, terrior mix)
"Maverick is more exciteder and an entertainer"
He must have talked about those dogs for 10 minutes. It was really funny.
