Voted off

Quinn is really good at getting little digs into Allison that set her off. She's really easy to get going, so I can appreciate the allure but it can get very annoying very quickly. And so tonight he received a punishment he didn't quite care for. After his 10 minutes of persuasion and negotiating (he offered to let me take ALL of his toys away instead) didn't work, it quickly turned to sobs and ramblings... "I'm not going to look at her anymore"... "I'm not goign to talk to her anymore"... "She's not gonna be my favorite anymore"... "I was going to dream about her tonight but now I'm going to dream about Daddy instead"... and on, and on, and on.

Somewhere in the middle was my favorite: "when they ask me for my vote I'm gonna write down Mommy's name". [We had just got done watching Survivor :-) ]

After a quick stop in for a goodnight "I love you" and shrugged away kiss and hug he told me in person he wasn't going to look at me or talk to me anymore. So on my way out I asked him if he wanted the light left on. His reply: "yes" (so much for the silent treatment)

I wonder where he gets his antagonistic trait from... clearly that's not a Reardon thing... LOL

Allison a lawyer?

In her fortune cookie tonight, Allison got the following fortune:

"You would make a good lawyer"

I'm posting it just in case that's where life takes her...

And for the record... hopefully she'll be on the side of good (that's looking a little iffy right now).

bowling

We went bowling last night for Jason's birthday. Quinn's been wanting us to go as a family for awhile now. It was Allison's first time and she LOVED it. She wasn't too crazy about taking turns but got the hang of it after a bit. They were nice enough to give us two lanes which was great so it was just her and Quinn playing on their lane. All on her own she would go get the ball and carry it over and set it on the ramp. A couple of times after seeing Quinn she tried to throw it down the alley instead of using the ramp and she was able to get it going with decent speed. I couldn't believe how much fun she had.

Oh, and she really liked the shoes too... she had a fit when it was time to give them back.

airplane commodes

As you probably know, Allison is pretty much potty trained. However, she likes to go very frequently... I think some of it is just explorative and part is that she drinks a lot and really does have to go. Either way, we have spent a lot of time in bathrooms lately. In fact, she's like a hawk and seems to always know where they are. Sometimes you barely get back to what you were doing (shopping, eating,...) before she says "affroom" (bathroom) again.

So I was a little uncertain how this trip was going to be. I decided to make her wear a pull-up and she seemed ok with that. The flight was under 2 hours so I thought there was a possibility we might make it through without needing to go. No such luck. 3 visits. It probably would have been more but she started asking right as we were making our ascent. We mixed things up and visited the front one once and the rear one twice. Fun stuff. But I have to give her credit... she stayed dry straight through to my mom's house.

there is no 5 second rule at airports

Everytime we fly into Chicago Midway we get Clark's popcorn. It's not even close to Garrett's but it's the next best thing that I know of. Quinn and Allison were eating said popcorn while I was collecting our luggage from the baggage claim area. Suddenly I heard my mom exclaim to Allison "don't eat that from the floor!". I spun around, telling her "Yuck, spit it out!". But by then she had already removed the offending piece of popcorn from the floor. So what does she do? She put it right back in her mouth then spit it out. Eww... Of course, being Allison she would pick this time to actually listen to me. I think she probably would have gotten less germs if she'd just swallowed it down quickly.
